Great Destinations In Egypt

Egypt’s got a few key areas that holidaymakers love. Sharm El Sheikh is famous for its coral reefs and buzzing nightlife, perfect for couples or groups. Hurghada is another Red Sea favourite, offering relaxed vibes and loads of resorts with private beaches. If culture’s your thing, head to Cairo for the pyramids, the Egyptian Museum and a taste of city life. Luxor and Aswan are great for those keen to dive into ancient history, with incredible ruins and Nile cruises that show off Egypt’s more traditional side.

Best Hotel Resorts In Egypt

There’s no shortage of resorts in Egypt, and many offer incredible value, especially compared to similar stays in Europe. In Hurghada, you’ll find beachfront hotels with big pools and on-site restaurants that won’t cost the earth. Sharm El Sheikh has everything from family-friendly complexes to adults-only retreats with rooftop bars and spa treatments. Many resorts are all inclusive, which helps keep costs down. Look out for names like Jaz, Sunrise and Pickalbatros—reliable options with good reviews and plenty of facilities.

All Inclusive Holidays

All inclusive holidays in Egypt are a great way to get more for your money. Most include flights, transfers, meals, drinks and often entertainment too—so there are no nasty surprises when you check out. Resorts in places like Makadi Bay, El Gouna, and Soma Bay are well-known for their generous packages and beautiful beachfront locations. Many also have extras like waterparks, spas, and diving schools.

Family Friendly Egypt

Families will find Egypt surprisingly easy-going. The flight time’s not too long from the UK, and many resorts are geared up for kids, with pools, playgrounds and activity clubs. Places like Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh have calm beaches and shallow waters, great for paddling and snorkelling. Some hotels also have waterparks, giving the kids a full day of fun without having to leave the resort.

Best Time To Visit

Egypt gets sunshine pretty much all year round. Winter (November to March) is ideal for sightseeing, with cooler daytime temperatures. Spring and Autumn are warm without being too hot—perfect for the beach or exploring. Summer (June to August) can be very hot, especially inland, but the Red Sea resorts stay comfortable thanks to sea breezes. If you're after a cheap deal, travelling in the shoulder seasons (March–May or September–November) often means lower prices and fewer crowds.

Deals & Discounts

There are some fantastic deals and discounts with top holiday brands like loveholidays and TUI (sadly Jet2holidays don't yet fly to Egypt). Keep an eye out for free child places which are often available with TUI and a fantastic way to save money on a family holiday. Discount codes are often available too and sign up for the myTUI account for extra offers.

Top Tips

You’ll need a tourist visa, which you can usually get on arrival or online before you go. It’s worth packing light, breathable clothes, but cover-ups are handy when visiting mosques or cultural sites. Tap water isn’t always safe to drink, so bottled is best. Tipping (baksheesh) is expected in many places—keep small notes handy.
